Regional MICE Manager for Buffalo Tours
Sarah is British national with over 16 years’ experience in sales & event management for multiple companies in the UK, EMEA and Asia. Working as an events manager for international companies she has gained an intimate understanding of the industry and can confidently tackle all the challenges that can arise within the event life cycle.
Sarah moved to Asia in early 2014 and worked with a regional hotel brand with a focus on driving MICE Services throughout the business. Thus deepening her understanding of the effects of cultural, geographical and economic factors and how to operate in the most effective manner. A bridge between western and eastern ideologies and to help all parties achieve their goals.
At Buffalo Tours her focus is to build upon two areas she is passionate about 1) event management and 2) responsible travel that provides a positive impact on the destination she is working in.
Tran Trong Kien
Founder and Chairman
Trained as a doctor, Tran Trong Kien followed a passion for travel late in his studies. After graduating, Kien traded his dream of becoming a medical doctor for a new dream of connecting people and cultures through extraordinary journeys. Kien started Buffalo Tours in a tiny office in Hanoi, and has since grown the company to one of the biggest and most respected travel companies in Asia. Never one to forget his roots, Kien continues to hold community growth and responsible tourism close to his heart – a commitment that follows through in his work with Buffalo Tours.
Sales and Marketing Director
A part of the Buffalo Tours team since 2004, Sarah Griffin is certainly not new to travel in Asia. Though she is originally from Australia, she’s called the Asian region home for many years, and beyond her work within travel, Sarah loves discovering new and thrilling opportunities around each corner in the region. Sarah is an integral part of Buffalo Tours’ dedication to responsible travel, community connection and stellar customer service.
Operations and Product - MICE
Jo's event management experience dates back to 1999 when he co-organized a mountain bike race in the Australian Outback. He turned his passion for events into a profession in his home country of Austria, from where he created, organized and delivered large scale events for government and corporate clients all over Europe, and eventually became a Regional Manager in Doha, Qatar.
In 2010, Jo took some time off to put his logistical skills to use for an emergency mission for Medicines Sans Frontiers in Malawi. Social responsibility is an important part of his life, making Buffalo Events a great fit. Jo has responsibility for operations and developing products, with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility. Jo has travelled extensively throughout Asia and lived in Thailand in 2006. He was thrilled to return in 2016 and become part of Buffalo Events.
Native of France, Elodie has always had passion for travel and new cultures. After gaining her Masters degree in Management of Tourism, she decided the world was worth exploring. She moved to Thailand in 2011 and started gaining experience within the inbound industry. She has developed her knowledge in sales and product, as well as intercultural management.
A great opportunity was offered to her by Exo Travel Myanmar in 2014 and she met this challenge as a French Inbound Manager based in Yangon. She returned to the Land of Smiles late 2015 as Groups and Events Coordinator for Exo Travel Thailand. She designed commercialized leisure tours and operated the delivery of corporate events in Thailand. Elodie is now part of Buffalo Events as MICE sales manager and is responsible for implementing all sales activities and maximising business opportunities in line with responsible travel.
